Breed Information

Overview

The Golden Saint is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between a Golden Retriever and Saint Bernard. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and understand that you can get any combination of the characteristics found in either breed. This designer breed is recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club).

A Golden Saint is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Saint Bernard. These large dogs tend to be sweet and friendly dogs that love their families. Although they are not recognized by the American Kennel Club, their parent breeds are and you can register a Golden Saint with the Dog Registry of America.

Temperament

With some of the kid-friendliest dog breeds as parents, it’s no surprise that a Golden Saint wins over everyone with their sweet nature and friendly personality. These dogs are known for being gentle giants and tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. As long as they have been properly socialized, they also tend to be open and friendly with strangers. After all, they love getting attention and making new friends. Their temperament also tends to make them a great fit for roles as emotional support dogs, therapy dogs, and service dogs.
