Temperament

They tend to be wary of strangers, but warm up once they are introduced. Jack Russells also have a high prey drive and an urge to chase, so they will need extra socialization and training if there are small pets in the household. They can also be prone to barking, and it can become a nuisance behavior if you do not work to train your dog to stop barking early on.
