Overview

A Chi-Poo is a cross between a Chihuahua and a Miniature Poodle. Chi-Poos are compact and energetic little dogs that love their families. They tend to be energetic and playful, and love nothing more than being around their favorite humans.

Although the Chi-Poo is not recognized by the American Kennel Club, they are recognized by other notable canine organizations. The American Canine Hybrid Club, Designer Breed Registry, Designer Dogs Kennel Club, and more all recognize the Chi-Poo.

Temperament

A Chi-Poo tends to be sweet, loving, and affectionate with their families. They tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. They can be initially wary of strangers and strange dogs. But, as long as they have been well-socialized, they tend to warm up quickly. Chi-Poos are fantastic watchdogs because they will alert you to things, people, noises, etc. on your property. Because of this, they can be prone to barking a lot. If you start to train your dog to stop barking early on, you can keep this from becoming a nuisance behavior.
