The Cava-Tzu is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Shih Tzu. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and understand that you can get any combination of the characteristics found in either breed. This designer breed is recognized by ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club).

The Cava-Tzu is not a purebred dog. It is a designer dog breed that is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Shih Tzu. They are a newer designer breed that started showing up in the 2000s and have been growing in popularity ever since.

Although they are not recognized by the American Kennel Club, they are recognized by other notable organizations like the American Canine Hybrid Club, Designer Breed Registry, Designer Dogs Kennel Club, and more.

Temperament

Although the Cava-Tzu can take on traits from either or both of their parent breeds, they tend to be loving and friendly. Both of the parent breeds tend to have a sweet temperament and playful nature, so the same is generally true for the Cava-Tzu. They love to play, cuddle, and be the center of attention. These dogs are highly social and tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. They also tend to be relatively quiet and do not tend to bark a lot unless they have been trained into it.
